Heather from the Black Hawk office reports that the week started off a little slow on Monday, when we had to fight with some strong tides early in the trip, but were able to find a nice pile of porgies and ended up with plenty to go around! Despite the less than ideal conditions on Thursday, our private charter had a great trip with good fishing, filling up coolers and having a blast! Friday was another good day, with lots of jumbo porgies coming over the rails. Saturday was more of the same, with absolutely beautiful weather, plenty of porgies, and some bonus weakfish in the mix as well.
Our squid trips on Thursday and Friday night showed solid fishing. Friday night was little tougher, but Saturday night was fantastic. An absolutely beautiful night, and full buckets all around the boat- who could ask for more?
We will be adding more squid trips as long as we can- it’s a short season, so as long as the weather and fishing allows, we’ll be heading out. Stay tuned for updated trips! Next weekend starts our two trips a day on Saturdays and Sundays- 5am and 1pm. The weekends do sell out quickly, so be sure to grab your tickets when they’re posted!
As a reminder, we post new trips every Monday night at 8pm, for trips approximately 3 weeks ahead of time. Grab your tickets right away if you have a particular date you’d like!
