Heather from the Black Hawk office reports some excellent fall fishing this week! As usual, we didn’t make it out every day- but we don’t expect to at this time of year. One the days we did get out, we saw some fantastic fishing! Limits of seabass around the boat, with a full boat limit on several days. Nice blackfish in the mix as well, with several 10+ pound fish this week! We do our best to release these bigger fish whenever possible. Some jumbo scup were in the mix as well this week.

Saturday’s trip was a little tougher, so we put in some overtime and stayed a bit later to make sure everyone had a solid catch. We always do our best to make sure everyone goes home with some quality fish!

Now is definitely the time to get out there and join us on one of our 12 hour combo trips. A reminder that trips this time of year are very weather dependent, so you want to get your tickets ahead of time so we can contact you in case of any weather related concerns.

Also a reminder that we will have our annual “Small Business Saturday” gift certificate sale on November 29. A reminder as this holiday season starts to shop in your local community- don’t forget to support the local tackle shops, toy stores, book stores, restaurants and other places that support your local community!

We look forward to fishing with you!

November 9, 2025

Heather from the Black Hawk office reports that after being tied to the dock for a majority of the previous week, we were thrilled to get out there this week! Last Sunday, we headed for Block Island, and were not disappointed! It was a beautiful fall day with a nice mix of fish- and the story of the day was the good numbers of big seabass! During the week, we had our first week of our special 12 hour combo trip. We were rewarded with jumbo seabass- the biggest we’ve seen in years! On several of the trips, we had a full boat limit of these jumbo seabass! We also had a nice mix of blackfish for those that wanted them, as well as some jumbo scup in the mix. Now is definitely the time to get out there and join us!

November 2, 2025

Heather from the Black Hawk office reports a short report this week…..due to the wind, we didn’t get out much! Our last bluefish trip of the season, or at least the trip that was supposed to be for bluefish, ended up with a mixed bag, with some porgies, seabass and blackfish. Tuesday’s trip headed to Block Island, where the seabass and blackfish were ready to bite. It was a great trip! We lost the rest of the week due to the wind.

Our 12 hour combo trips have started, and we’re looking forward to these on weekdays in November. Grab your tickets so you can get out there with us! We look forward to seeing everyone soon for some great fall fishing!

October 26, 2025

Heather from the Black Hawk office reports that the news of the week is the blackfish! While these “mixed bag” trips are still targeting the porgies and seabass as well, the blackfishing has been excellent. Tuesday was the highlight of the week, with limits up scup around the boat, as well as many limits of good sized togs. Wednesday was a little trickier, but still produced a good amount of fish. We’re looking forward to more of these trips as the season progresses!

Don’t forget, our famous 12 hour combo trips start on weekdays in November- we can’t wait! Grab your tickets so you can get out there with us! We look forward to seeing everyone soon for some great fall fishing!

October 19, 2025

Heather from the Black Hawk office reports that while we lost the early part of the week due to the storm, we were pleasantly surprised when we got back out there with our private charter on Wednesday. We had jumbo scup, some even bigger seabass and some nice blackfish there waiting for us!!l Thursday’s trip was similar, with again excellent fishing. Friday and Saturday’s trips were a little on the slower side, considering we’ve been spoiled for months. That being said, there were still plenty of fish to be had for everyone who stuck with it!

We’re looking forward to getting out there this week for some more of our mixed bag trips. We start our famous 12 hour combo trips in November- we can’t wait! Grab your tickets so you can get out there with us! We look forward to seeing everyone soon for some great fall fishing!

October 12, 2025

Heather from the Black Hawk office reports another great week of fishing! We started the week with our bass and blues trips, and although we were hampered by the seals, we still had plenty of blues to fill the coolers.

We lost our trip on Wednesday due to the weather, but the remainder of the week showed excellent bottom fishing. Plenty of porgies, with some nice seabass mixed in as well. We even had some keeper blackfish on Saturday! We look forward to more blackfish trips as the season progresses. A special congrats goes out to Ethan for his pool winning seabass on Friday’s trip!

From all of the calls and emails we’ve received, we know you’re all excited about the blackfish season! We’ll have crabs on board every day now, and we’ll start our famous 12 hour combo trips in November.

We’re obviously losing some trips with the upcoming storm, but we look forward to getting back out there soon. Stay tuned and grab your tickets so you can join us soon! Check the website or give us a call if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing everyone soon for some great fall fishing!

October 5, 2025

Heather from the Black Hawk office says that once again, we’re on repeat here….another excellent week of fall fishing! Once again we started the week with a bluefish and striped bass trip, and everyone easily had their fill of jumbo blues with some seabass in the mix to fill up the coolers.

During the week, we again had excellent porgy fishing, making for easy limits around the boat, again with some seabass in the mix. On some trips, we had some trigger fish, a few slot sized striped bass, and even some blackfish that were released unharmed. We can’t wait for the opening of blackfish season!

Judging by all of the calls and emails, you can’t wait for the opening of the blackfish season either! We’ll be doing some blackfish trips in October, and we’ll start our famous 12 hour combo trips in November.

Now is the time to join us for some excellent fall fishing. Grab your tickets online and come fill the cooler to fill the freezer! We continue to fish every day, with all bottom fishing trips (6 days a week) leaving at 6am, and our bass and blues trip leaving at 7am. Check the website or give us a call if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing everyone soon for some great fall fishing!

Heather from the Black Hawk office says that it feels like we’re just repeating the same thing over and over….but what a great week of fishing! Once again we started the week with a bluefish and striped bass trip, and everyone easily had their fill of jumbo blues.

Midweek, we saw excellent porgy fishing, making for easy limits around the boat, again with some seabass in the mix.

Thursday’s weather didn’t cooperate, but despite the rain, our awesome anglers on a private charter were rewarded with an incredible combo trip. Loads of blues and limits of porgies came over the rails in spite of the rainy conditions.

The weekend was more of the same, with excellent porgy fishing, with some seabass and triggerfish in the mix as well.

September 21, 2025

Heather from the Black Hawk office reports another great week of fall fishing! We started off the week with a bluefish and striped bass trip, and it did not disappoint! The blues were hungry from start to finish, leaving anglers with sore arms by the end of the trip! We had a nice mix of some seabass as well to round out the coolers!

You may have seen our live video on Facebook, but Tuesday and Wednesday we had some different trips, where we were taking some golfers over to Fisher’s Island for a charity golf tournament. While we miss the fishing, it’s always nice having these groups on board with us!

When we headed back out for bottom fishing on Thursday, we were rewarded with an easy boat limit of porgies, with some nice seabass and a few triggers in the mix as well. Friday was more of the same, with excellent porgy fishing and a good mix of seabass. Saturday was similar, but with a keeper striped bass in the mix- congrats to the young angler who caught it!

September 14, 2025

Heather from the Black Hawk office reports a fantastic week of fall fishing! Bottom fishing trips were excellent, with easy limits of porgies and a good mix of seabass as well. Friday’s trip was the highlight of the week, with unbelievable porgy fishing all day long. Limits all around the boat, and a good number of nice seabass filled up the coolers. Our final fluke trip of the season on Thursday wasn’t what we were hoping for, but we did get a handful of keepers, up to 7 pounds. Some nice seabass in the mix as well. Our weekly bluefish trip was phenomenal, with jumbo blues jumping on the jigs as soon as they hit the water. Some nice keeper bass as well for a pleasant surprise.

We were honored to once again work with the Northeast Saltwater Fishing club for our annual “Hook Up with a Vet” trip. We love this trip and are so grateful to be able to give back to those who have given so much for our country. We had a beautiful night with great fishing!

Our fall fishing schedule is here, and we will fish every day, with all bottom fishing trips (6 days a week) leaving at 6am, and our bass and blues trip leaving at 7am. Check the website or give us a call if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing everyone soon for some great fall fishing!

September 7, 2025

Heather from the Black Hawk office reports that we are ready for some fall fishing. We had some great trips this week, and some that were a little more picky. Our porgy trip on Labor Day started off with a bang, with jumbo porgies, some nice seabass, and even a fluke coming over the rails. It slowed a little as the day went on, but it was still a great day of fishing. Midweek trips were excellent as well, with jumbo porgies, some seabass, and a decent showing of triggerfish. Our fluke trip on Thursday was, to be honest, not great. We put in the time and effort, but the bite never materialized into what we were hoping for.

Friday’s After Work Special showed some unbelievable bluefishing. Rods bent the entire trip, with some jumbo blues to 20 pounds, with some smaller ones in the mix as well. A perfect way to end our After Work trips for the season!

We’re now into our fall fishing schedule. We continue to fish every day, with all bottom fishing trips (6 days a week) leaving at 6am, and our bass and blues trip leaving at 7am. Check the website or give us a call if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing everyone soon for some great fall fishing!

August 31, 2025

Heather from the Black Hawk office reports that we had some good fishing this week, and some beautiful end of summer weather! On some trips the porgy fishing was a little picky, but those who stuck it out at the rail were able to bring home some nice fillets. We’re seeing more seabass in the mix as well, which we hope continues into the fall bonus season. Congrats to many of the kids who had some nice fish this week- we had a bunch of kids out this week, getting in some last minute fishing before school starts.

Speaking of kids, we had our last Saturday afternoon kid trip of the season- we had beautiful weather, and excellent fishing. The kids were reeling up porgies all afternoon, and a good number of seabass in the mix. It was also our last Capt. Scott’s Saturday giveaway- Congrats to Michael M, who was the winner! Thanks to Capt. Scott’s for this fun bonus on our weekly kids trips!

We had a beautiful evening for our final Saturday night cruise of the summer. Thanks to all who joined us this summer on one of these trips- as you know, these are all fundraisers for various local organizations through our Black Hawk and the Community program. We’re honored to be able to help our local community, and greatly appreciate all of you who help us to be able to do so.

We’re now into our fall fishing schedule. All bottom fishing trips (6 days a week) leave at 6am, and our bass and blues trip leaves at 7am. We have one After Work Special left, this Friday at 3pm. We continue to fish 7 days a week, just with a slightly different schedule than our summer schedule. Check the website or give us a call if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing everyone soon for some great fall fishing!

August 24, 2025

Heather from the Black Hawk office shares that we’re sad that summer is almost over! Wow, did it fly by!

We had some nice weather and great fishing early in the week. The big story, of course, was the remnants of Hurricane Erin as it passed by. We were able to get in our special scout trip on Wednesday night- thanks to all the scouts who came and joined on a rainy evening, and brought a carload of food for our food drive as well!

We lost Thursday’s fluke trip and private charter sunset cruise, as well as Friday morning’s bottom fishing trip. We were able to get out for the After Work trip on Friday, and were met with hungry bluefish who bit from start to finish! It was a great night on the water. The weekend trips were pretty good, with a steady pick coming over the rail. Those who worked at it and fished the whole trip were rewarded with full coolers.

We only have one of our Saturday afternoon kids trips left- join us if you can! We’ve already got people asking about them for next year! Congrats to James and Michael A, who was the winner of our weekly Capt. Scott’s Saturday giveaway.

We had another beautiful night for our Saturday sunset cruise, thanks to those w who joined us. We’ve got a few days left in our summer food drive. Heather from the Black Hawk office reports that summer is flying by! Be sure to get out here and join us before the summer is gone!

We had some beautiful weather this week, and the porgy fishing remained good. The triggerfish were aggressive this week, and many customers were getting the bite. Lots of porgies, as usual, with a good mix of seabass as well. Our fluke trip was a little slower, but the quality improved from last week. Some nice fish coming over the rails! The bluefishing remains hit or miss based on the tide, with some trips being tough and others better. Saturday morning showed some of the nicest weather we’ve seen with good fishing too! Our Saturday afternoon kids trip had a bunch of youngsters out there reeling in the porgies all afternoon. We love these trips and hope you can join us on one of them before the summer ends! Congrats to Libby M, who was the winner of our weekly Capt. Scott’s Saturday giveaway.

We had another beautiful night for our Saturday sunset cruise. As always, these events are fundraisers for local nonprofit groups in our community. The fishing remained good this week. Our porgy trips again had lots of porgies coming over the rails, with some seabass in the mix as well. Many trigger fish this week, too, adding some variety to the coolers. Our fluke trip wasn’t as good as we hoped, as we had to fish in secondary spots due to the conditions. Friday afternoon’s bluefish trip was similar, and definitely not what we had hoped for or expected. We’re hoping this week’s trip is back to an action packed night. Our Saturday afternoon kids trip was once again a great time- we love getting kids out on the water! Only a few of these trips left, so join us soon! Congrats to Justin & Benjamin L, who were the winners of our weekly Capt. Scott’s Saturday giveaway.

Heather from the Black Hawk office says what a week! Did you see our Facebook post about our visitor on Monday? We were fishing off Montauk when we saw a whale, who put on quite a show for us, feeding and slapping his tail. Check out our video online- it even made the evening news!

The fishing remained good this week. Our porgy trips once again showed great numbers of porgies, with some nice seabass in the mix. Our private fluke charter on Thursday was on the tougher side, but the great group we had still had a great time out on the water.

Friday’s trip had to fish in some secondary spots due to the wind, but we stuck with it and made a good trip out of it, with happy anglers reeling in porgies throughout the day. Friday afternoon’s After Work Special trip gave our customers some sore arms after reeling in the giant blues all night long. Be sure to grab a spot on one of these trips before they’re all done for the year!

We had a beautiful night for our 10th annual Warm Center sunset cruise. WIth perfect temperatures, an absolutely gorgeous sunset and a great group of people, it was an amazing summer evening.
