Heather from the Black Hawk office reports that the fall bite continues! We had another week of excellent bottom fishing with plenty of porgies and sea bass, a few cod mixed in, and even a few striped bass in the mix as well.  Earlier in the week we had a bit of wind to contend with, but had a plan B and stayed local – and did well with the porgies and seabass.

Our private charter on Friday had a great group from Cheshire and simply phenomenal catching! The porgies were huge and hungry and the monster sea bass flying over the rails all day long! We ended the day with a boat limit of big sea bass and bonus season limits of XL porgies all around the boat.

Saturday’s night trip was the first of our fall night bass trips, and it was a beautiful night.  With many first time customers, we had our boat limit many happy anglers- for many of them, it was their first striped bass.  We’ll be doing more of these trips as the fall bite continues.

We’d like to give a special thanks to our customer Paul, who brought a huge donation of cleaning supplies, sheets, and blankets down to the boat for Always Home, a local organization helping families overcome homelessness.  They were thrilled with the donation and we were so happy to be able to help.  We’ve got the best customers around!

The fall bite is red hot right now! Join us soon- we continue to fish daily at 7:00 am.  There are a few dates we don’t have open trips due to private charters- including next Friday and Saturday, October 4 & 5- so check the website for updates and details.  We hope to see everyone soon!
