Capt. Greg from the Black Hawk reports that porgy fishing still remains excellent, with a lot of action and most patrons getting their limits handily. That said, only Saturday’s trip was a real grind due to the flat calm conditions, bright sunshine and a tremendous amount of holiday traffic steaming back and forth over the fishing grounds.
Our night “Calamari Safari” squid trips have been very productive. Experience and technique have a lot to do with filling your cooler. Wednesday’s trip was excellent, with everyone catching their fill. Friday’s trip was a little pickier with experience coming through. Dr. Brett and his wife Christy from East Lyme conducted a clinic on how to catch ’em. Great job to both of you! Saturday night’s trip was again excellent. Tonight’s trip, Sunday, we hope for the same. Fun to catch and great to eat, if you haven’t tried it yet you’re missing out on a great trip! We will be posting more trips soon, and remember, reservations are required, so stay tuned and grab your spot.
Heather from the office reports that we’ll also have some night bass trips coming up in the beginning of June- dates will be be posted on Facebook and our website, as well as in our weekly email, this week. These trips fill up quickly so be sure to grab your spot as soon as you see them posted.
We continue to fish at 6am on Saturdays and Sundays, and 7am during the week, with dates posted based on our charter schedule. We will start our full 7 days a week schedule in mid-June. As always, stay tuned to our website and Facebook page for updates and reports. We look forward to seeing everyone soon!
